In June, 2019,  I arrived at Anchor of Hope Sober Living.  It was a day that changed my life forever. Josh is the owner and founder of Anchor, and I needed help with my sobriety.  It was in jeopardy and my hometown was not a good fit for my recovery.  I had to make a difficult decision and sacrifice to leave my son and make my way to Charlotte to become the best version of myself.  Anchor of Hope has done that for me.

A faith based, 12 Step recovery home offered  things I needed.  What I've found since my time at Anchor is my relationship with God has been unstoppable.  Shortly after arriving at Anchor, I was introduced to Elevation Church. This is the first time in my life that I really loved going to the house of God.  They understood my disease of addiction and more importantly, they welcomed me with open arms. Anchor gave me hope; something I did not have before getting here.  Now I can give hope away to others.  Sobriety is possible and sharing hope with others is part of my program. The brotherhood that comes with Anchor is like no other I have ever experienced.  What has the program and Anchor given me you ask?  I now work as behavioral health technician at Carolina Center of Recovery and will pursue a career in the recovery field. Anchor has given me strength when I feel I don't have any.  It has given me hope, responsibility and love for myself and others.  One man's dream has become someone else's treasure.  We keep what we have by giving it away.  Josh Bone has done just that.  His dream is now a reality and he is saving lives and building relationships. If there's one thing I can say, Josh has shown me recovery is possible.  The love from your heart saved my life.  Your dreams have touched many people.  God talks through you everyday to help us (the residents) grow in our sobriety. Today I'm a better father, son, friend and boyfriend because of Anchor.  It's also a great honor to be the first house manager at Anchor.  In the end, all that's left to say is thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Thank you for what you have done for me and what Anchor has done for me.  We now have grown to 3 houses.  Anchor will always be in my blood and forever in my heart.  THANK YOU.”
