When I got to Anchor of Hope straight out of rehab I had no money, no job, and no prospects on what to do next or even what to expect. I had a bag with a little bit of clothes (mostly from CCR) and that was about all. I'd been in Charlotte 45 days and didn't know anybody except the people I'd been in rehab with. Terrified is an understatement. My only option was to figure out how to do something I'd never even considered doing before, living without drugs and starting a completely new life. It was only by God's grace that I landed at AOH when I got out of rehab. They gave me a chance when honestly I wouldn't have given myself one. Here I've actually learned how to not only be an adult but to help others learn the same things that I've had to and continue to learn to do. During my time at AoH I've found what life is actually about,  how to be a friend,  a father and as house manager how to be a leader. I can even hold down a job, have fun and have gratitude for the simple things in life that I'd never noticed before. When somebody says to "stop and smell the roses " do it. If anybody were to ask how I got her from where I was.  All I can say is trust in God, take suggestions,  and live in the moment. The future will come soon enough if you put in the work. I've learned everything about living life and doing the next right thing at Anchor of Hope.
